Vacuum Forming Machines For Sale

SPA & Hot Tub Formers

Belovac builds large format vacuum forming machines for spa and hot tub manufacturing, including swim spas up to 10′ x 25′. Each machine has pneumatic clamping that applies 300 foot pounds of pressure per linear foot, and an onboard, fully adjustable PLC with multi-zone control of temperature and pressure.

The machines form ABS, HIPS, KYDEX, acrylic, HDPE, polycarbonate and most other thermoplastics. Acrylic has a narrower forming temperature window than ABS or HIPS, which the acrylic vacuum forming machine requirements guide covers. A solid-state programmable heat timing unit and a programmable percentage control unit keep heating consistent, and the adjustable clamping system holds each sheet securely.

Spa Forming Machine Questions

What size spa can these machines form?

Belovac’s large format machines form swim spas up to 10′ x 25′, along with hot tub shells and other large components. A full swim spa can need a forming surface 8 to 10 feet across, with draw depths deep enough to shape jet pockets, seating contours and footwells in one pull. Standard equipment is not built for that scale: a machine rated for a 6-foot sheet won’t safely run a 10-foot swim spa shell, whatever its heater specs say.

Which plastics do they run?

ABS, HIPS, KYDEX, acrylic, HDPE, polycarbonate and most other thermoplastics. Acrylic sheet is the standard material for swim spa shells, and spa-grade UV-stabilized acrylic is standard practice for outdoor spas. ABS, acrylic and KYDEX each respond differently to heat ramp speed and cooling, so the machine’s controls need to cover that range.

How is the sheet held during forming?

Fully adjustable pneumatic clamping applies 300 foot pounds of pressure per linear foot. That keeps heavy-gauge acrylic and ABS sheet rigid through the full heat cycle, without slipping or sagging, and the adjustable system holds different materials and sheet sizes securely. Clamp frame height also limits how deep a part can be pulled, so confirm it against your mold before tooling is built.

How is heat controlled?

A solid-state programmable heat timing unit and a programmable percentage control unit set the heating, and a Siemens PLC touch screen runs timed, automated sequencing across 7 zones on the upper and lower oven banks. Independent zones matter on a spa sheet because flat panels and deep-draw jet pockets need different heat profiles at the same time, and sheet edges lose heat faster than the center. Uneven heat shows up later as thinned walls, warping or stress cracking.

Can the machine be customized?

Yes. Size, heating zones and automation are tailored to your production needs, whether you run one custom shell a week or dual-station production. See Belovac’s custom large format vacuum forming machines for other configurations.

Can I add a lower oven bank later?

The lower oven bank is an available upgrade. It gives faster cycle times and better heat consistency and saturation on thicker gauge plastics, which matters for the heavy-gauge sheet spa shells are formed from. If you are forming spa shells up to 10′ x 25′ and need clamping and heat control that stay consistent across the whole sheet, call a Belovac expert at (951) 741-4822.
